Wiper Party members led by Kalonzo Musyoka on February 18 held a 2 day retreat in Naivasha.
The retreat comes amid division in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti on February 14 issued a statement threatening to pull out of Azimio should Raila Odinga fails to endorse Kalonzo Musyoka for President in 2027.
“I demand that the Akamba community and our contribution at the national arena be respected by political leaders across the political divide. We cannot forever continue playing second fiddle in national politics.” Wavinya said.
Last week, Jubilee Party members met in Nakuru and suspended their Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chairperson David Murathe.ย
“We are not for sale and are firmly in the Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Alliance Coalition says.” Kalonzo Musyoka said.
“Weย want to thank Kenyans in general, and in particular those who voted overwhelmingly for our Wiper and the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance candidates.” Part of the statement read.
Wiper Party maintains that Azimio won the August elections and former IEBC Chairman altered the results in favour of William Ruto.ย
“In the last general election. We WON. Our victory may have been stolen by the IEBC under the direction of Wafula Chebukati and in a compromised Supreme Court, but the real court – the Peoples Court – is yet to give its final verdict.” the statement read.
Further, Wiper Party accuses the executive for weakening the opposition by welcoming rival lawmakers to the ruling coalition.ย
Wiper Party:”Executive has made many attempts to divide the Azimio – One Kenya coalition. They have openly used a public institution and public resources to entice individual members “in the name of development” to break ranks with their political parties.”
They have accused the current government of killing multiparty democracy and taking the nation back to a one-party state.
“We the leaders of the Wiper Democratic Movement want to emphasize that we will not
allow this country to retrogress back to the dark days of the one-party state.” Wiper Party says
“It is a well known fact that this government has consistently lied to you and still continues to lie to you to date.”
“Today the mama mboga cannot pay rent, the boda boda can barely fuel their motor bikes, our farmers have maize rotting in silos yet this government is hell bent on feeding Kenyans with GMOs, the average mwananchi is being over-taxed and over-burdened, Unemployment is on the rise, Kenyans are losing their lives to senseless violence and the state of insecurity is alarming. Enough is enough.” Wiper Party statement read.
Wiper Democratic Movement Resolutions;
- The party firmly remain in the Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Alliance
- The party fully support the ongoing Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Peoples’ Barazas
- The Party will conduct a massive nationwide membership recruitment drive
- Wiper Party county assembly members should fully support Governors and work together.
