Well-wishers have come together to offer support to Pastor Patrick Nyageo and his family after a heartbreaking video of him seeking help went viral on social media.
The video showed Nyageo, who used to preach in primary schools in Kisii and Nyamira Counties from the early 90s, appealing for assistance to cater to his family’s needs.

For many years, Pastor Nyageo preached in primary schools across the region, collecting small offerings to help him move from one school to the other.
Most of the time, he walked from one school to another, preaching with passion and collecting even the smallest of contributions to enable him to buy water as he walked to the next school.
“I remember when I was schooling at Ibucha Primary back then, from 2005 to 2009, Nyageo did show up at our school few months to KCPE exams. Actually, he showed up every year towards the national exam period. He preached then asked for contributions of even ksh 1 Bob to enable him to buy water as he walked to another school,” said one of his former students.
Despite the challenges he faced, Pastor Nyageo was a jovial and charismatic man who touched the lives of many people he met during his preaching journey.
His dedication to spreading the word of God through his preaching endeared him to many in the region.
However, a recent video of Nyageo seeking help has touched many, revealing the difficult circumstances that he and his family are currently facing. In the video, Nyageo narrated that his elder child is mentally challenged and, as such, needs special care and attention.
He also revealed that his second born finished school in 2019 from Nyambaria High School, with a B+ in KCSE, but never joined university due to a lack of fees. The family currently lives in a mud house, with no reliable source of income to cater to their daily needs.
Following the release of the video, well-wishers from all walks of life have come together to offer their support to the family. Some have donated money, while others have pledged to provide essential items such as food, clothing, and other necessities.
