Nakuru Town West Constituency MP Hon. Samuel Arama has opened up on his political journey and life history in an exclusive interview with Manoti TV.
The City Lawmaker says he was born in a humble background in a small little-known village in Nyamira County and his parents were farmers. The Mp added that her mother passed on a week to class 7 final exams. It broke his heart, but he still did the exams and performed extremely well. This is the motivation behind Arama’s passion and dedication in supporting secondary students with scholarships.
Mr. Arama Political journey began in 2013 when he was elected first to parliament on an ODM ticket. The City MP narrates that at first ODM party leadership had denied him the ticket, but the court order compelled them to issue the ticket to him. “the ODM party leadership is so tribal that’s why I dumped the party before 2017 elections”, Arama added.
However in 2017, Hon. Samuel Arama defended his seat on Jubilee Party and won the elections in a tight race. The MP says the voters of Nakuru Town West constituency elected him because of his track record and the good relations he has with them.
Education
The Mp has told Manoti TV that he has built perimeter walls for several schools to enhance security and protect the public land from land grabbers. For instance, the Mp narrates how he collided with land cartels who had grabbed part of the land belonging to Crater view girls. The MP recovered the land, fenced the school, and built more classrooms.
To de-congest classrooms, The MP has built classrooms for primary and secondary schools within his constituency and purchased schools buses for several schools like Mwariki Secondary, Nakuru West Secondary school et al.
The MP also does sponsor teachers from the best-performing schools on trips to Mombasa, Naivasha, and even Arusha. Mr. Arama says the act motivates the teachers to work extra hard.
Roads
The Nakuru Town West Constituency one knew in 2013 is not the same 10 years later. The Mp narrates how he has built tarmac in London, installed street lights, and enhanced the drainage system. For instance, he tarmacked the whole of London ward, Kaptembwa thus opening the area to new opportunities.
Arama has also built modern Police stations to enhance security in the area. The modern Kaptembwa Police station has reduced the rate of confirmed gang crimes that were rampant in the past.
On Presidential Elections
The City MP maintains that Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga will win the August elections by a big margin. The MP adds that Azimio’s agenda is Mwananchi centered. For instance, Baba care aims at ensuring Kenyans have access to quality and affordable health care irrespective of their status.
Once a close ally of DP Ruto, Arama says the bottom-up model is the biggest scam in Kenya. Ruto is just lying to Kenyans, just like he did in 2013 and 2017.
On Wajackoya, Arama says the Presidential candidate is not normal. Perhaps too much education made him run mad. “You cannot use Snakes and Marijuana as a campaign, that’s totally out of order”, the 2-time legislatures say.
