TSC has identified and mapped locations that are considered hardship areas, which have different benefits compared to non-hardship areas.
To be classified as a hardship area, a location must lack food and essential social services and amenities, as well as suffer from poor transportation and communication networks, unfavorable weather conditions, and security concerns.
Recently, TSC has added several new areas to its list of hardship areas, including Turkana, Mandera, Samburu, Wajir, West Pokot, Narok, Garissa, Marsabit, Isiolo, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Baringo North, Kajiado, Kitui, and Homa Bay counties.
