The perpetrator, identified as Leonard Kipngetich, engaged in a heated argument with his 74-year-old father, Joseph arap Oricho, before imprisoning him inside their residence and wielding a deadly panga to carry out the brutal killing.
The elderly man suffered deep wounds on his neck, head, and legs, and tragically succumbed to his injuries, having bled profusely.
Senior Assistant Chief Paul Bett of the Makimeny location revealed that upon hearing the distressing cries of Oricho, members of the public swiftly rushed to the scene and apprehended the assailant.
