H.E. Hon. Simba Arati, Governor Kisii County on Monday led the 2022 Jamhuri Day celebrations in Tendere, Kisii County.
Hon. Simba Arati was accompanied by his Deputy Governor, Dr. Robert Monda, Speaker of the County Assembly Dr. Philip Nyanumba, County Women Representative Hon. Donya Toto, Bomachoge Chache MP Hon. Alfa Miruka among other leaders.

Hon. Simba Arati once more thanked the great people of Kisii County for electing him alongside his team. He pledged to fulfill all his promises he gave to his people during campaign ie. Health, Tendere stadium, roads construction, bursary, Avodaco processing, tea farming and pyrethrum factory.
Governor Arati promised to fully work with President William Ruto for the sake of development of our people. Hon. Simba Arati promised to continue with the HR audit so as to effectively ensure the County Public service works effectively for wananchi. He also awarded Ogembo Municipality in January, 2023.

On his part, Hon. Dr. Robert Monda urged actionalisation of water harvesting from River Gucha and Ogembo Municipality. He also raised residents’ cry of lack of drugs in Ogembo Hospital. He also asked leaders to stop divisive sentiments that would lead to clan balkanisation.
Hon. Dr. Philip Nyanumba, Speaker of the County Assembly pledged to continue working closely with the executive to pass key bills for the sake of development.
Hon. Donya Toto reiterated her agenda to ensure the Kisii County residents get water in their households. She also pledged to give Affirmative Action funds to all marginalised groups in the County.
MCAs present led by Majority Leader Hon. Henry Moracha and Majority Whip Hon. John Ombati asked political leaders to focus on development rather than malicious clan epithets.
