SHADRACK MOSE Biography
Shadrack Mose the Solicitor General of the Republic of Kenya (2023), an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and immediate former Member of Parliament for Kitutu Masaba Constituency.
Hon Mose Was appointed as the Solicitor-General by President William Ruto on March 15, 2023, replacing Kennedy Ogeto.
Mose was first elected in 2017 to Parliament on a Jubilee Party ticket but lost the seat in 2022 to Clive Gisairo of the ODM party.

Education Background
Hon Mose Was Born in Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira County.
He joined Nyamagwa High School from 1981 to 1984 (KCE), then proceeded to Gusii Highlights High school where he got his KACE certificate in 1987.
He then joined the University of Nairobi in 1988 and pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). Mose graduated in 1991 (Hons)
Immediately after graduation, He enrolled on a Post Graduate Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Government and graduated in 1992.

Hon. Shadrack Mose is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over twenty- nine years of experience in legal practice.
He worked as an associate advocate with Esmail & Esmail Advocates from 1994 to 1995. He later joined Mose and Mose Advocates from 1996 to 2007 as a partner.
From 2007 to date, Mose worked a senior partner at Mose and Milimo Advocates.He served as a Member of the National Assembly for Kitutu Masaba Constituency between the years 2017 and 2022.
Mose is the Managing Partner at M/s. Mose, Mose and Mose Advocates.

The Solicitor-General ( Act 49 of 2012)
There shall be a Solicitor-General who shall be appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.
The President shall nominate a person for appointment as a Solicitor-General from among persons recommended by the Public Service Commission.
A person shall be qualified for appointment to the office of Solicitor-General if the person—
is qualified to hold the office of judge of a superior court under the Constitution; and
meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The Solicitor-General shall assist the Attorney-General in the performance of the duties of the Attorney-General.
The Solicitor-General shall carry out any function, discharge any duty and exercise any power as may be directed by the Attorney-General and shall organise, coordinate and manage the administrative and legal functions of the Office;
Assist the Attorney-General in the performance of his duties as the principal legal advisor to the Government;
conduct, or assign and supervise all court cases, including appeals or petitions on behalf of the Attorney-General; and subject to Article 234 of the Constitution, be responsible for the discipline of State Counsel and other members of staff of the Office.
Functions of Solicitor-General in Kenya
- organizing and coordinating the administrative and legal functions of the Office;
- formulating and ensuring the implementation of development strategies for Government Legal Services;
- undertaking duties of the alternate chairperson of the Disciplinary Tribunal;
- performing duties of alternate Chairperson of the College of Arms;
- performing duties as a member of the Council of Legal Education;
- coordinating the attachment of candidates for pupillage in the Office; and
- performing such other duties as may be conferred by law or otherwise assigned to the Solicitor-General by the Attorney-General
