Shabana FC fans have voiced their disappointment with the club’s management for reneging on an earlier promise of free entrance to tomorrow’s match against Posta Rangers at Gusii Stadium, 2PM.
The fans had initially paid for tickets to a previous match that was postponed due to referees failing to officiate.
Following the cancellation, the club assured supporters they would be granted free entry to the rescheduled game as compensation.
However, in a sudden change of plans, the club announced a revised arrangement, stating that ticket prices for the Shabana FC vs. Posta Rangers match had been reduced by 50%.
This adjustment has left fans feeling betrayed, as they had been expecting full waiver of ticket fees, as initially promised by the management.
The club further clarified that the 100% waiver would be implemented in two phases: 50% for the match against Posta Rangers and another 50% for the upcoming fixture against FC Talanta.
Fans can purchase tickets for tomorrow’s game at designated outlets, including Kisii Primary Parking, Nyanchwa Junction, and outside the county headquarters grounds. The club has urged fans to observe queuing procedures at these locations.
Ticket prices for the game have been set at Ksh 500 for VVIP, Ksh 250 for VIP, and Ksh 100 for regular admission.
Payment will be strictly in cash, according to the club’s communication.
Despite the reduced ticket prices, many fans remain dissatisfied with the handling of the situation, as they feel the club has failed to honor its original commitment.
Maybe the fees incurred in paying security personnel and covering other charges could be the reason for the 50% gate charge.
