The last time these two teams met, Gusii FC emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win, leaving Shabana eager for redemption.
The upcoming match holds significant implications for both teams in the National Super League (NSL).
Currently sitting at number 5 in the league table with 40 points, Gusii FC will be looking to secure a win to climb the rankings and enhance their chances of qualifying for the FKf Premier League.

On the other hand, Shabana FC, holding the second spot with 60 points, is just one point behind league leaders Muranga Seal, who have 61 points.
However, Muranga Seal has played two more matches than Shabana, intensifying the pressure on the latter to secure crucial victories in their remaining six matches and clinch the NSL title.
Shabana FC has been in exceptional form recently, winning all of their last seven matches.
This impressive streak has earned them the title of the most supported team in the NSL, with passionate fans rallying behind their club.
However, some supporters have expressed their concerns and sought assistance from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to protect them from what they perceive as exploitative tactics employed by opposing teams.

Ahead of the Kisii Derby, a segment of Shabana FC enthusiasts has even threatened to boycott the upcoming away match against Gusii FC at Gusii Stadium.
Their main contention revolves around the disclosed gate fees for Sunday’s encounter. Gusii FC has set the price for a VIP seat at Ksh200, while the terraces are priced at Ksh100.
Shabana fans, however, have voiced suspicions about the pricing scheme, suspecting Gusii FC of attempting to take advantage of their loyalty.
Reports indicate that the management of Gusii FC has informed their own fans that they will enjoy free entry to the match, while only Shabana fans will be required to pay.
This stark contrast in treatment between the two sets of supporters has left many Shabana fans feeling exploited and deeply concerned about the fairness of the upcoming match.
Normally, during Gusii FC’s home matches, the gate fees are set at Ksh100 for VIP seats and Ksh50 for terraces.
The decision to impose a higher fee exclusively on Shabana fans has sparked outrage among the club’s supporters, who believe it to be a clear case of exploitation.
As the Kisii Derby draws near, tensions are rising both on and off the field. Shabana FC will be determined to maintain their winning momentum and close the gap with league leaders Muranga Seal.
