Dr. Yabesh Nyandoro Kambi passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, after a brief illness.

The sudden demise of the advocate, fondly known as ‘Daktari,’ left the football community and his family in a state of profound grief.

Dr. Kambi collapsed and passed away at his law firm in Kitengela, Kajiado County, shortly after complaining of a headache, as revealed by his younger brother Ronald.
The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the football fraternity, with tributes pouring in from across the country.
Described as a supportive and vibrant individual, Dr. Nyandoro Kambi was known for his willingness to assist anyone who sought his help, regardless of their background.
His contributions extended beyond his family, touching the lives of numerous individuals through various development and charity programs in the fields of education, sports, health, and agriculture.
In 2021, Dr. Kambi assumed the role of Shabana FC’s chairperson, having been elected unopposed, succeeding Jared Omboni Nevaton.
Under his leadership, the club experienced a resurgence, culminating in their recent victory in the National Super League (NSL) 2022/2023 season.

Dr. Nyandoro Kambi, 51 years old at the time of his passing, was the third-born in a family of 13 siblings.
Survived by his wife and three children, he leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and dedication to his community.
His educational journey took him from Nyasiongo Primary School in Nyamira County to Menyenya Secondary School and, ultimately, to Nairobi University, where he obtained his law degree.
He continued his studies at the University of Dar es Salaam, earning both a Master’s and a PhD in Law.
Beyond his involvement in football, Dr. Kambi ventured into politics and contested the Borabu constituency parliamentary seat in both the 2017 and 2022 General Elections. His commitment to public service earned him admiration from many quarters.
Sam Nyamweya, the former Chairman of the Football Kenya Federation and the current Shabana Patron, expressed his grief over the loss of a remarkable individual.
Nyamweya described Dr. Nyandoro Kambi as intelligent, kind-hearted, and instrumental in the progress of Shabana FC.
He called on the community and friends to stand alongside the grieving family during this difficult time.
The football community, including clubs like Bandari, has also joined in mourning the visionary leader who touched the lives of many.
