
Kisii,Kenya, May 10- In the National Super League football action on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, Shabana FC continued their dominant season with a crucial 1-0 win against Naivas FC.
The victory saw Shabana extend their lead at the top of the table by 54 points and put them closer to securing promotion to the Kenya Premier League.
The match started in earnest, with both teams looking to gain an early advantage.
Shabana started the game on the front foot, controlling possession and probing the Naivas defence for an opening.

In the 23rd minute, the Shabana fans were on their feet as Peter Ogechi Maestro scored the only goal of the match, putting his team in front.

Maestro’s goal came from a well-taken corner that was taken by Isaac Otieno Otile, and Maestro heade flew past the Naivas goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
The Shabana fans erupted in celebration, and the players were clearly buoyed by the early lead.
Naivas tried to fight back, and they had a few chances to equalize in the first half.
However, the Shabana defence held firm, and the first half ended with the home team in front.
In the second half, Naivas came out strongly, determined to get back into the match. They created several chances and even hit the post at one point, but they were unable to find the back of the net.
Shabana, on the other hand, looked to hit Naivas on the counter-attack and nearly doubled their lead in the 75th minute. However, the Naivas goalkeeper made a fantastic save to keep his team in the match.
In the end, Shabana held on for a 1-0 win, which saw them extend their lead at the top of the National Super League table.
The victory put them in a strong position to secure promotion to the Kenya Premier League, with only a few matches left to play.
Murang’a Seal FC is second with 42 Points.
In other NSL matches played on Wednesday, Migori Youth defeated Mara Sugar FC 2-1, while Kisumu All Stars secured a 2-0 victory over Silbwet FC.
However, all eyes were on Shabana FC, as they continued their impressive season and moved closer to their ultimate goal of playing in the top tier of Kenyan football.
The Shabana FC fans left the stadium in high spirits, cheering their team on and dreaming of what could be. For the players, it was another step closer to glory, and they knew that they would need to maintain their winning form to achieve their ultimate goal
