Nairobi, Kenya– In a significant move aimed at enhancing service delivery and fostering development in Nyamira County, President William Ruto held a crucial meeting with Nyamira leaders at State House, Nairobi.
The meeting, which underscores the President’s commitment to grassroots engagement, brought together a diverse group of leaders from the county to deliberate on pressing development issues.
President Ruto emphasized the importance of collaboration across political lines to ensure the rapid implementation of development projects that benefit all Kenyans.
“Our engagement with grassroots leaders, irrespective of their political affiliation, guarantees quick delivery of services to Kenyans,” Ruto stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The delegation from Nyamira County was led by Governor Amos Nyaribo and included Members of Parliament Clive Gisairo (Kitutu Masaba), Steve Mogaka (West Mugirango), and Patrick Osero (Borabu).
The discussions focused on the future development of Nyamira County, highlighting a unified approach to driving progress in the region.
Governor Nyaribo expressed optimism about the outcomes of the meeting, noting on Facebook, “We met with the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. William Ruto, at State House, Nairobi, to discuss and deliberate on the future development of Nyamira County. Our goal is to achieve unity of purpose that will drive development in Nyamira County.”
MP Clive Gisairo underscored the collective approach adopted during the discussions, which centered on equity in resource allocation and socio-economic development.
“The collective approach to issues directly affecting those we represent in leadership should be the guiding principles of our quest for equity in the allocation of resources and social-economic development,” Gisairo posted on Facebook.
One of the critical issues addressed was the progress of key road projects within the county.
The leaders sought assurances from President Ruto regarding the completion of the Amabuko-Gekano-Birongo-Manga-Motemomwamu and Kemera-Kiendege-Keumbu road contracts.
Gisairo reported that the President assured them of his unwavering commitment to expediting these projects, with particular attention to the Ngenyi-Manga-Motemomwamu road, the oldest in the region.
The meeting’s emphasis on unity and collaboration was evident, with leaders agreeing to work together to solve common challenges facing their constituents.
“When we come together, great things happen,” Mogaka shared on Facebook after the meeting. The delegation focused on finalizing plans for the 2024/25 budget, with particular emphasis on infrastructure and educational projects.
Among the key achievements was the commitment to tarmac the Bondeni-Magombo road and complete the Nyageita Bridge.
KeNHA engineers had recently assessed the bridge site, paving the way for imminent construction.
Mogaka also highlighted President Ruto’s renewed commitment to the long-awaited completion of the multipurpose hall at Sironga Girls’ National School.
The President pledged Kshs 30 million for the project during his previous visit to West Mugirango, a promise he reaffirmed during the meeting.
Further agreements included the launch of KUWAIT-funded projects slated for mid-June and the provision of technological resources to local educational institutions.
Specifically, West Mugirango and Kitutu Masaba TVETs will each receive 100 desktop computers, while the County’s ICT hub will be equipped with 35 units.
Efforts to enhance power connectivity were also on the agenda, with follow-up actions planned with the Cabinet Secretaries for Roads and Energy.
“This is the only reward we can give our people by coming together and speaking in one voice,” Mogaka concluded, emphasizing the collective effort and unity demonstrated by the leaders.
Notably absent from the meeting were Nyamira MPs Irene Mayaka (Nominated), Joash Nyamoko, and Jerusha Momanyi.
