Police in Kisii are investigating an incident in which the principal of St Paulsโ Gekano High School reported losing Sh500,000 that was locked in his car.
The principal had withdrawn the cash from Absa Kisii Branch and gone to a restaurant for lunch with the school bursar.
They left the money inside the vehicle in a brown envelope placed on the back seat and walked into the restaurant.
Upon finishing their lunch, they discovered the rear window of the car had been broken and the money missing.
The police were called to the scene and launched an investigation.
The review of CCTV footage did not yield any results as the cameras were located too far from the incident.
The police suspect that the stealing was a collusion of many other parties, and there are suspicions that the two were trailed from the bank to the location where the incident happened.
No arrests or recovery have been made yet.
