Rigoma Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Nyambega Gisesa has successfully released bursaries worth Sh3.96 million to various learners in the region.
This comes after a rigorous application and verification exercise, highlighting the dedication of the office to support students’ academic endeavors.
However, the bursary release was not without its challenges, as the MCAs had previously threatened to protest should Governor Amos Nyaribo fail to release the funds.

Prior to the successful release of the bursaries, there was tension and concern among the MCAs, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the delay in disbursing the funds.
In response to this delay, the MCAs issued a stern warning that they would take to the streets to demand immediate action from Governor Amos Nyaribo.
Their protest threat was an attempt to ensure that the educational needs of the students in Nyamira were addressed promptly and efficiently.
Distribution of Bursaries in Rigoma Ward
Following the finalization of the list of bursary recipients, Rigoma Ward MCA office promptly shared the information with educational institutions within Rigoma Ward and neighboring areas.
One of the beneficiaries of this initiative is Biticha Secondary School, which received Sh454,400 in bursary funds.
Similarly, Riyabe High School was granted Sh940,700 while Amabuko Secondary School received Sh526,600.
Eronge Secondary, another beneficiary, received Sh183,200 in bursary funds while Karantini received oSh108,900.
Meanwhile, Metamaywa Secondary was granted Sh300,500, and Nyatieko received an allocation of Sh153,500, ensuring that students in these schools have the necessary support to pursue their studies effectively.
Nyankoba Secondary was granted Sh201,400, Nyanchonori received Sh92,400 ,Riomanga, on the other hand, received Sh112,200, while Kegogi Secondary was granted Sh54,500 in bursaries, providing students in these schools with financial support to pursue their educational goals.
Amasege Secondary received a lion share of Sh514,900, while Mong’oni Secondary received Sh100,700 in bursary funds, enabling learners in the school to access quality education and better opportunities.
In addition to their commitment to transparency, MCA Nyambega Gisesa’s office has gone the extra mile to ensure that every parent or guardian with learners studying in schools located far from Rigoma Ward receives their bursary cheques at their doorstep.
