Nyamira, Kenya, March 20-Leaders in Nyamira Vow to Put Politics Aside for Regional Development.
Nyamira National Assembly legislators and the County leadership have vowed to put aside their political differences and work towards fostering development in the region.
The leaders held a consultative meeting in Nairobi on March 19, 2023 where they discussed the synergy in the application of county, NGAAF, and NG-CDF bursaries and development funds.
They also talked about seeking national government support to expedite the implementation of the proposed industrial park and airport at Sironga, as well as the improvement of road and school infrastructure.
The leaders urged Nyamira residents to turn out in large numbers to witness the launch of the construction of a world-class industrial park in Sironga, which will provide employment opportunities.
The West Mugirango MP, Hon. Stephen Mogaka promised to do his best to put the constituency that hosts the county government on the world map.
The leaders called on everyone to be part of the making of history.
Present leaders were Stephen Mogaka (West Mugirango), Clive Gisairo (KitutuMasaba), Patrick Osero (Borabu),Nyakerario Mayaka (Special Elect),Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County Woman representative),and the county governor, Hon. Amos Nyaribo.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko and Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni were present.
President William Ruto Nyamira and Kisii counties Tour
In a sudden change of plans, Deputy President William Ruto has rescheduled his trip to the Gusii region.
The region, which comprises of Kisii and Nyamira counties, was supposed to be visited by Ruto on Friday, 24th March, but he will now arrive a day earlier on Thursday, 23rd March.
In a related development, the Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu’s Homecoming in Gesusu has also been rescheduled.
The event was initially planned for Sunday, 26th March, but will now take place on Saturday, 25th March.
Machogu is expected to use the occasion to popularize the government’s agenda on education and to call for unity in the region
