Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen remarks on Sakaja’s education history works against him. In a video clip posted by Murkomen on his official Facebook page, he claims that Sakaja was a SONU leader and has traversed different countries for education purposes.

Murkomen says that IEBC should subject all candidates to a similar process. The Senator claims that the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission is biased and asking Birth ,maternity, Primary, Secondary and University certificates.

On Wednesday the Commission on University Education (CUE) revoked its recognition of the degree held by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja.

In a letter directed to Sakaja, the Commission cited new evidence and stated that an investigation has now been launched over the matter.

“The Commission for University Education has however received material information about the authenticity of the degree you presented from Team University that will require further investigation to ascertain the validity of the said degree certificate,” the letter stated.

A social media user has reacted to Murkomen’s remarks.  Pauline Njoroge wrote on her Facebook Page.

Mimi niko na maswali tatu:

1. When did someone’s looks become the determinant as to whether he has a degree or not?

2. Sakaja amesoma dunia mzima? What does that even mean?

3. When was Sakaja SONU Chairman? Which year? Or Murkomen is talking about a different SONU?
