The DownFall Of Gusii Leaders

A good example that I can’t fear saying is Pavel Oimeke, who CS Matiang’i fought to restore his job after losing it in Epra. Later, Oimeke was caught red-handed by DCI sleuths receiving a bribe of 200,000 which prematurely ended his career. Later, gambled to become the shortest serving Member of Parliament who served for one year and bowed out of the race in 2022 after losing the ODM nomination ticket to 32-year-old youth. Oimeke claims Matiang’i did not protect him from these economic crimes & wrath of Bonchari voters.

Josiah Moriasi was appointed the Youth Fund’s CEO in October 2016 for three years with a provision in the contract that the term was subject to renewal for a further three years based on performance. Trouble began when Mr. Moriasi’s contract expired on April 30, 2020. The Youth Fund board then voted to sack Mr. Moriasi over claims of poor performance and mismanaging the organization. Mr. Moriasi rushed to court to challenge his sacking, unfortunately, Moriasi blames Matiangi for not covering his mismanagement of public funds.

Mr. Manduku is facing charges of unlawful award of tenders worth 2.7billlion for the construction of the cargo storage facilities at the Nairobi Inland Container Depot (ICD) without an approved budget, overpayment of 244 million for works not completed. Manduku blames Matiang’i for not covering his scheme to defraud Kenya.

When one has been trusted with a job, let him/her protect it and guard it like an egg. Mismanagement of public resources and uncouth behavior has consequences that are punishable by the law. Don’t name-call your Kinsmen, when you create an embarrassment to self and community, is a shameful and bad precedent. Let’s embrace the values of hard work, honesty, and accountability for any assignments you get called for.
