Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama, while addressing the Kisii local media, has drummed up support for former Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i to contest the Nyamira County gubernatorial seat in 2027.
Arama said that Matiang’i is a smart leader who can change the face of Nyamira County. “Matiang’i is smart. You all know that, you know what he did when he was Minister,” Arama added.
Arama declared that if Matiang’i won’t have returned to Kenya by December, he will personally board a plane to the US to speak with him because “he listens.”
The City Lawmaker emphasized that Matiang’i’s standard is presidential, but he should start first with the gubernatorial role.
“We know vying for Governor is below Matiang’i’s standard, but he should start there, then vie for President when President Ruto retires in 2032,” Arama stated.
The Nakuru Town MP said that Matiang’i should team up with Governor Simba Arati of Kisii County to unite the Gusii community.
Recently, various leaders have been mentioning Matiang’i in various forums. Last Saturday, Nairobi Governor Sakaja said that Matiang’i was a stellar public officer even though they differed politically.
Kisii County Governor, Simba Arati a few weeks ago after attending a court case in Nyamira Law Court, said the former powerful Minister will return to politics at the right time.
Sagero, South Mugirango MP aspirant in 2022, who called Matiang’i all sorts of names last week at a funeral in South Mugirango, said that Matiang’i should return to government.
The former CS went silent immediately after handing over to Prof. Kithure Kindiki as Interior Cabinet Secretary.
He deactivated all his social media accounts and chose private life.
