Interior CS Dr.Fred Matiang’iย and his counterpart Lands Cs Karoney on Friday 29,July 2022 Visited the Family of Mzee Joseph Abuga Oribo in Iranya village, Kiamokama ward, Kisii county. Mzee Oribo’sย body had been lying in the morgue for six years
The family of mzee Oribo has been on the receiving end after the death of their patriarch. The late was held at the city morgue for 6 years over a land tussle.
During his recent interview at the Egesa with Lawrence Nyakundi,ย the matter was brought to his attention and he quickly swung to their rescue.
Dr Matiangi’s visit and support to the family is more of a ceremony to the family amid a sad moment. Earlier Dr Matiangi had intiated the building of a two- three bedroom houses for the widow and son. Dr Matiangi was impressed with the construction progress which was almost 55%. This is a generous gesture that left the family and the neighbourhood in awe.
He didn’t stop there, further he donated food stuffs to the family and the community as well. He urged our people to lend a hand whenever we can as we are better when we are united and live peaceful. He called on religious leaders and politicians alike to be in the forefront providing guidance and assistance to our people. That our people depended on them for sustainable development.
Further, he proceeded to Rigoma Girls in Manga ward to deliver his promise to school fraternity and the community. The solar powered borehole which he commissioned today is testament of Dr. Matiang’is love for our people and children. As of today the girls school and community will sleep live without the horror of wondering where the next drop of water will come from.
Indeed Dr. Matiang’i is the epitome of sobriety, faithfulness and service to people. He has shelved his personal desires for the greater good of the gusii nation.
