Interior CS Fred Matiangi’s video moves attract attention from the online community. In a video seen by Gusii Digital News, Matiangi is seen moving his head back and forward while lifting his toes. Matiangi was dancing with his counterparts ICT CS Mucheru and Wamalwa but Matiangi’s move caught the attention of many Kenyans.

Matiangi is a former lecturer at Egerton University and the University of Nairobi. He has also served as the Eastern Africa Regional Representative for the center of International Development.
Dr. Fred Matiangi has also been a columnist for the Daily Nation, Kenya’s leading newspaper and has consulted extensively with USAID, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the World Bank, The West Minister Foundation for Democracy, the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Transparency International. Dr. Matiangi’s education includes a Doctorate in Comparative Literature from the University of Nairobi, a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kenyatta University.
In the Kenyan Government, he served as the CS for information, Communication and Technology (ICT), CS for Education, He was appointed acting CS for Interior and Coordination of National Government following the demise of Joseph Ole Nkaissery.
President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019 handed Fred Matiang’i sweeping powers on the oversight of Government programmes, signalling his confidence in the Interior Cabinet Secretary in his final term in office that will shape his legacy.
In his new role, Dr Matiang’i will chair a key committee on the implementation of development programmes, whose membership includes all Cabinet secretaries, the Attorney General and Head of the Public Service, a mandate that a Government insider said essentially elevates him to a “prime minister or chief minister.”
