Today’s County Assembly of Nyamira context on house leadership hallmarks Dr.Fred Matiang’i influence in the region. That UPAs Enock Okero toppled the troublesome, egocentric former speaker Hon. Moffat Teya is a testament to the belief the Nyamira people have in their kingpin. Through the MCAs, our people’s wish was realized and as it stands, the UPA party is a political formation to reckon with. Matiang’i and Governor Amos mean well to the people of Nyamira.

The ousted Teya has been a pain in the neck in matters CAN. He has employed unorthodox means to sabotage the progress of the county. In fact, he even attempted blackmail for him to pilfer resources meant for the people of Nyamira.

The incoming speaker Hon. Enock Okero the former Manga ward mca was among the casualties from the Moffat tenure. That the former speaker deployed all forms of propaganda leading to his narrow defeat in the MCA race. But like fate has it, “He who laughs last laughs best” in today’s context Hon. Enock Okero beat Hon. Teya by garnering a whooping 26 as the latter got a meager 9 votes.
It should be remembered that, unlike Teya, Hon. Enock Okero is a man who has cultivated his politics in a very peculiar manner and espoused the practice of honesty, hard work, and commitment to an array of political victories in his favor.

All said and done, Teya’s goose is cooked and Okero future is luminous. The incoming speaker of CAN is a UPA lifetime member a clear indication that UPA is the Gusii Nation’s party. Given the party’s entry into active politics, merely four months to the general election. It has surpassed its expectations. In fact kudos to the UPA party leadership for working around the clock to ensure it delivers tremendously both in Nyamira and Kisii counties.
The UPA party leader, Governor Amos Nyaribo has had a hectic task trying to deliver his manifesto under the leadership of Teya. As the latter outrightly undermined the executive. Word on the street has it that outside forces were using him to see to it that the government fails, but woe unto him, his heydays are a thing of the past.
After the declaration of Hon. Okero’s win, H.E Amos Nyaribo was a happy man. Since it’s a green light for a cordial relationship between the executive and the County Assembly.
Matiang’i and Governor Amos Nyaribo have successfully locked out other parties from the leadership of the County Assembly of Nyamira.
