
Education Cabinet Secretary, Hon Ezekiel Machogu, on 23rd of November 2023, unveiled the highly awaited KCPE 2023 results.
Michael Warutere, a student from Riara Springs, Imara Daima, emerged as the top performer, securing an impressive 428 marks.
This year’s examination saw a whopping 1,406,557 candidates sit for the KCPE, marking the end of the primary school education journey for many young learners across the country and end of 8-4-4 education system.
Notably, Nuru Okanga, a 32-year-old Azimio Diehard, added a unique twist to the candidate pool, emphasizing the diverse range of individuals pursuing education in Kenya.
Nationally, the results reflected a commendable performance, with 8,523 candidates achieving scores of 400 marks and above.
Furthermore, 352,782 candidates fell within the 300–399 marks range, showcasing a substantial number of learners reaching impressive milestones.
A significant portion, 658,278 candidates, secured scores in the 200–299 marks bracket, while 383,025 candidates fell within the 100–199 marks range. The final category comprised 2,060 candidates who scored between 1 and 99 marks.
Nyamira’s Down Forest Academy enrolled 15 candidates in the KCPE exams 2023.The top candidate scored 424 marks, while the lowest scored 370 marks.
Eleven candidates scored over 400 marks, and only four candidates scored between 350 to 399 marks.The school achieved a mean score of 402.
In St Andrews Kaggwa Boys, 184 candidates undertook the KCPE 2023 exams. The highest scorer attained an exceptional 423 marks, while the lowest scorer secured 316 marks.

Impressively, 44 students achieved scores of 400 and above, with 135 candidates falling within the 350–399 marks range. Additionally, five candidates scored between 300 and 349 marks.
Eronge Adventist Boarding, with an enrollment of 350 candidates, demonstrated a strong performance.
Thirty-six candidates achieved scores above 400 marks, with the top scorer attaining an impressive 413 marks and lowest candidate has 190 marks.
Additionally, 289 candidates scored between 300 and 399 marks, while 24 candidates fell within the 200–299 marks range.
At Alimo Academy in Nyamira, the mean score reached an impressive 395 marks, with the top student achieving 408 marks.
Thirteen candidates earned scores of 400 and above, underlining the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
In Ogango Nyamira’s Royal Metropolis Academy, 68 candidates undertook the examination. The highest-scoring candidate secured 416 marks, while the lowest scorer attained 313 marks.
Twelve candidates achieved scores of 400 and above, 52 fell within the 350–399 marks range, and four scored between 300 and 349 marks.
Turning to Kisii County, Precious Hope Academy Jogoo celebrated outstanding results, with the top candidate garnering 420 marks.
Seven candidates scored 400 and above, showcasing the school’s commitment to nurturing academic prowess. The school’s mean score improved to 388.1 from 387.5 in 2022.
