Day 3 of the vetting of the CSs nominees started this morning with Hon. Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, EGH, M.P – Nominee CS for Roads , Transport and Public Works taking oath before the National Assembly Committee on Appointment chaired by the Speaker of NA, Hon. Moses Wetangula.
Senator Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, Nominee CS for Roads , Transport and Public Works; a Laywer by profession is a third term Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County. He is currently facing the House Vetting committee of the National Assembly.
Murkomen says was born on 12th March 1979 and went to Chawis Primary School. Sometimes ha had to trek for 10km a day to access education

“Our responsibility as an institution of transport is trade facilitation and we must be able to provide structures that will make sure that we facilitate trade abit faster.We don’t even have enough money to do proper dualing of the road from Mombasa to Malaba”, Murkomen says.
Kipchumba Murkomen add that there is need to make sure that we strengthen the framework of public private partnership, so that we can entice the private sector to invest on the roads.
” If approved by this House, my focus is to ensure that there is equity in distribution of roads in the Republic of Kenya”, Murkomen added
Murkomen also fired a warning to rogue contractors.” If you are a shoddy cowboy contractor we will list you, we will put that list online and make it accessible to other contractors so that you don’t get any other work in Kenya”- Murkomen
