PEACE ASSIGNMENT

• A batch of KDF has landed in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to support restoration of peace in East DRC.

The Kenya Defence Forces troops were deployed to fight M23 rebels in DRC  in a regional joint operation.

Kenya Defence Forces Chief General Robert Kibochi saw off the team at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport  yesterday on Saturday.

This was the first batch of the 903 soldiers deployed.

Hon Kibochi told the troops to remember their joint mission with the East African Community states to reinforce peace.

• General also urged the officers to obey the law of the land as they are  deployed.

“We are known to follow the law wherever we go . Respect the chiefs of the Defence Forces where you go,” General Kibochi said.

This follows the approval by the national assembly Kenya Defence Forces of Kenya by under President Hon. William Samoei Ruto.

Our president Hon. William Samoei Ruto ordered the deployment of 903 soildiers from KDF  to join  regional peacemaking mission East African Community Regional Force to the Democratic republic of Congo [EACRF-DRC]

• Kenya also   should launch offensive Al Shabaab in Middle Jubba. Amid the pressure from parts of Somalia, al shabaab is on the run now and middle juba is their safe heaven.
• Bullale in Middle Jubba is the capital city of Jubbaland administration. Its fully  controlled by al shabaab: they collect taxes, almes and carry out extortions.
• The militant commanders, trainers , doctors, explosive experts operate from Middle Jubba, a walking away distance from Somalia – Kenya Border.
• Kenya shares a long and a relatively porous border of approximately 1, 116Km with Somalia. compared to Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan.
• However the local Jubbaland administration  quite sadly only controls parts of kismayo, Dhobley and some extent Afmadow.
• Because Al shabaab is just two to five kilometres from the three cities of Jubbaland administration partially controls.
