Kisii,Kenya March 8- Kisii County Woman representative Dorice Aburi and Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri today, joined the Egesa FM team during the Egesa FM Farmers Forum and International Women’s Day celebrations in Kisii County.
The event was held at the Kenyenya Green Stadium in the Bomachoge Borabu Constituency.
The Farmers Forum aimed to bring together farmers from the region to discuss the challenges they face and find solutions.
The event also celebrated International Women’s Day, with a panel discussion in the early morning session that included Hon. Dorice Aburi, Senator Esther Okenyuri ,Esnahs (Women Rights Activist), and Gladys Gesare (GBV Survivor & Activist).
During a media address, Senator Okenyuri encouraged women to seek medical checkups early to prevent reproductive health diseases.
She noted that many women suffer from such diseases, but with early detection and treatment, the outcomes can be more favorable.

In addition, Senator Okenyuri challenged young women to engage in politics, farming, and other activities to secure their livelihoods.
She highlighted the importance of women’s participation in decision-making processes, not only in politics but also in their communities and workplaces.

Kisii County Woman Representative, Dorice Aburi, has urged President William Ruto to consider women in state appointments.
She further urged him to appoint more women as school principals.
Aburi also debunked the myth of men beating their wives in the name of making them wise and punishing them.
She said we are in a modern society where women have equal rights as men.
