Hon.Ben George Orori Momanyi MBS biographyย
Ben George Orori Momanyi is a Kenyan politician who has served as a Member of Parliament for Borabu constituency from 2013 to date. Born in 1972, Momanyi schooled at Nyainogu Primary School before proceeding to Nyansabakwa Secondary school in present day West Mugirango.
In 1991, Momanyi secured admission to study Bachelors of Commerce at Marathwada University in the Republic of India. He completed his studies successfully in 1994. Before returning to the country, he secured yet another admission at Karnatak University in India.
It’s at Karanatak University where Momanyi enrolled to study Bachelors of Law in 1994, a course which he successfully completed in 1997. Upon his return to Kenya, he worked as a Legal Officer at City Hall from 1997-2001.
As part of the requirements in the Legal profession, Momanyi was admitted at the prestigious Kenya School of Law in 2000 for the Diploma in Law. In 2001, he was officially admitted to the Bar as the Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
A year later, Momanyi joined Karen Mosoti and Company Advocates where he practiced law until 2004. Currently, he’s an Associate in Momanyi and Company Advocates which he jointly started with partners two decades ago.
His political journey can be traced to 2007 when he unsuccessfully contested for North Mugirango/Borabu MP seat on ODM-K, a party associated to Kalonzo Musyoka. In 2013, Borabu was annexed from North. He went on to become MP of Wiper Democratic Movement.
Momanyi is currently running for Nyamira gubernatorial seat on Wiper ticket. He also served as Deputy Director of Elections in the same party. He played an instrumental role in convincing Musyoka to return to Azimio La Umoja.
