The FKF National Super League season kicked off with a bang as Gusii FC delivered an impressive performance, securing a 5-1 victory over Vihiga Bullets at the Cardinal Mosocho Stadium.
The thrilling match was just one of several exciting fixtures on a busy opening day of the league.
Newcomers Rainbow FC made their mark in the league by securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Darajani Gogo at Kasarani Annex.
Rainbow’s Kariuki Tyron was the hero of the match, expertly maneuvering through the Darajani Gogo defense and scoring the lone goal in the 36th minute.
Meanwhile, at the Wolves Den grounds in Olooloitikosh, newly promoted Dimba Patriots showcased their determination but fell short in a 2-3 loss to Naivas.
Naivas took an early lead with Vincent Likare’s goal in the 35th minute, and Brian Ouru extended their lead just before halftime with a well-taken goal, making it 2-0.
In the 53rd minute, Vincent Likare secured his brace, stretching Naivas’ lead to 3-0. Dimba Patriots, however, didn’t give up and managed to shift the game’s momentum ten minutes later, with Danis Omondi netting their first goal.
Tindo Joseph added a second for Dimba Patriots in the 72nd minute. Despite their spirited effort, the final whistle confirmed Naivas’ 3-2 victory.
In Machakos, football fans witnessed an intense battle as MCF and SS Assad played out a thrilling 2-2 draw. Both teams showcased their skills and determination, resulting in an entertaining match.
In Mumias, the visiting team, Kajiado, secured a hard-fought 2-1 win against hosts Vihiga United. The match displayed the competitiveness of the league as Kajiado managed to clinch victory on the road.
