The Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza on Tuesday also met CS Mithika Linturi.
“Meru Must Be Happy,” says Kawira. Senate has formed an 11-member team to investigate her recent impeachment.
The Senate established a special committee of 11 members to probe the impeachment of Meru Governor Kawira Mwanganza.
The committee is comprising of the following Senators:
1. Sen. (Dr.) Boni Khalwale, CBS, MP;
2. Sen. Jackson Mandago, EGH, MP;
3. Sen. Karungo Thangwa, MP;
4. Sen. Esther Okenyuri, MP;
5. Sen. Roba Ali Ibrahim, EGH, MP;
6. Sen. Peris Tobiko, MP;
7. Sen. Eddy Gicheru Oketch, MP;
8. Sen. Joseph Githuku Kamau, MP;
9. Sen. Edwine Sifuna, MP;
10. Sen. Agnes Kavindu Muthama,MP;
11. Sen. Johnes Mwaruma, MP.
The 11 Senators will investigate the proposed removal from office of the Governor of Meru
County and pursuant to standing order 80 (2), to report to the Senate, within ten (10) days of its appointment, on whether or not it finds the
particulars of the allegations against the Governor to have been substantiated.
The charges against the Gov. of Meru County, contained in the Motion of Impeachment by the Meru County MCAs are;
– Nepotism
– Illegal Appointments
– Unlawful Dismissal of the constitution and statutory functions of county organs.
The particulars of these allegations include;
1. Appointment of a husband to county offices
2. Roadside appointment of county workers at Timau,
3. Roadside appointment of county workers at Nkubu
4. Roadside appointment of county workers at Kianjae
5. Accused MCAs of cartelism, blackmail, greed corruption and intimidation.
6. Organized a violent demonstration against the MCAs at the Assembly presets.
7. Violation of Public Finance Laws; the Gov. directed Meru Teaching and Referral H. to spend all revenue outsourced. Directed county officers to participate in advancing the interest of Baite TV, a private media station.
8. Misconduct relating to the nominating of CECMs
