Kisii County Governor HE. Paul Simba Arati and former FKF President Sam Nyamweya have announced their collaboration to support Shabana FC’s resurgence.
The duo, known for their prominent roles in Gusii football, have set aside their differences and come together to advocate for unity and support towards Shabana FC’s journey back to top-flight football, after an agonizing 17-year absence from the limelight.
In a joint statement, Governor Arati and Sam Nyamweya called upon leaders within the Gusii community and beyond to transcend political boundaries and prioritize the betterment of the football club.
The announcement comes on the heels of Shabana FC’s milestone partnership with Bangbet, securing a Ksh 20 million deal that holds immense promise for the club’s future.

With renewed vigor and a shared vision, Governor Arati and Nyamweya hope to channel this positive energy towards the upliftment of Shabana FC.
Mr. Sam Nyamweya, a former Football Kenya Federation President, believes that the club holds the potential to make a formidable impact on the FKF Premier League this season.
Nyamweya’s deep-rooted connection to Kenyan football and his passion for Shabana FC drive his ambition to see the team not just compete but excel at the highest level.
However, amidst this hopeful alliance, the football community is now grappling with a legal dispute that adds an element of uncertainty to Shabana FC’s narrative.
A cease and desist notice, drafted by LUSWETI & NABUTODA COMPANY on behalf of Mr. Sam Nyamweya, has been served to Governor Arati.
The legal document accuses the Governor of interfering with the management and operations of Shabana FC in an unauthorized and detrimental manner.
The cease and desist notice alleges that Governor Arati’s involvement was orchestrated by individuals who lack official status within the club.
It contends that the Governor’s appointment as patron of Shabana FC did not adhere to the proper protocols, raising questions about the legitimacy of his role.
The letter underscores that the football club operates as an independent entity, and despite acknowledging Governor Arati’s position as the head of Kisii County, Nyamweya vehemently emphasizes that political authority should not supersede the club’s sovereignty.
The letter further raises concerns about alleged attempts to align Shabana FC with a specific political party, which Nyamweya deems as a breach of the club’s independent status.
It demands that Governor Arati immediately cease any actions or communications aimed at exerting control over Shabana FC’s activities.
