When President Kenyatta nominated him to the Cabinet, the University Don Dr.Fred Matiang’i was little known to many.
He started off with Digital migration an assignment that had proven to be hard and unattainable.
He proved everyone wrong and delivered a milestone in digital migration.
Upon realizing his potential, President Kenyatta prompted him to the Ministry of education to implement a series of reforms in the education sector.
Top on the list was 100% transition from Primary to Secondary, to meet the mandatory constitutional requirement of the right to basic education and the Country’s biggest headache of Exam malpractice.

Dr. Matiang’i turned every impossibility in the Ministry of Education into a reality. Exam cheating became a thing of the past, Parents started getting instant exam results and other enormous achievements in rather the most crucial Ministry.
While Matiang’i was excelling in the Ministry of Education, our Country was facing serious security challenges, Al Shabaab terror attacks across the Kenya and Somalia borders, our cities were in constant attacks, and our sovereignty was at stake.
Every man assigned matters security was either not understanding his role or was unable to coordinate the challenging security sector.

President Kenyatta once again promoted CS Dr. Matiang’i to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of Government to help secure our Nation.
Matiang’i swiftly took charge of the security sector; he implemented numerous security reforms in line with the Constitution, oversaw the transformation of the police force to the police service, dealt with Al Shabaab from within and without, dealt with extremists and other religious radicalization, and indoctrination teachings.
He restored law and order in the Police service. Dealt with criminal gangs etc.
He ruthlessly dealt with the gambling menace, eradicated counterfeit business, and money laundering, and crushed the famous wash industry.
He steered phenomenal growth in the Criminal Investigation Department.
President Kenyatta further, promoted him to the powerful Chief Minister. A duty he executed with excellence.
Towards the 2022 election, Kenya was on the verge of becoming the most secure state.
Fred Matiang’i was not only a dedicated civil servant but an excellent subordinate to his Boss.
As he steps down, I take this opportunity to congratulate him, for his exemplary performance, and a wonderful accolade.
Fred Matiang’i now joins the league of the greatest Civil Servants on Earth from; Ralph Bunche, an iconic Diplomat and civil rights leader who brokered the 1948 armistice between Arabs and Jews in Palestine.
He was the first nonwhite to win the Nobel Peace Prize. During World War II he served in the Office of Strategic Services, War Department, and State Department, where he focused on colonies in Africa and the Caribbean. Also helped plan the creation of the United Nations.
Prudence Bushnell; Foreign Service officer who sounded the alarm about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Served as deputy assistant secretary of State for African affairs, 1993-1996.
In 1998 as ambassador to Kenya, she was injured by an al Qaeda bomb in Nairobi. Later appeared on national TV to reassure Kenyans angry about delays in search-and-rescue operations due to evidence-gathering.
Alan K. “Scotty” Campbell;
Academic dean who became the first director of the Office of Personnel Management. Known as the architect of the 1978 Civil Service Reform Act, which reinforced merit system principles and brought private sector management approaches to government. Chaired the Civil Service Commission for the first two years of the Carter administration.
Wilbur Cohen; an Academic dubbed “The Man Who Built Medicare,” he joined the Franklin Roosevelt administration in the 1930s and helped draft the Social Security Act. Appointed by President Kennedy as an assistant secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare. In 1965, President Lyndon Johnson promoted him to HEW undersecretary.

Known as the “Mayor of the Pentagon,” he served 12 Defense secretaries over 44 years as a civilian administrator, from 1958 until his death in a car accident in 2002. He was the department’s highest-ranking career civil servant as director of administration and management and head of Washington Headquarters Services.
Allen Dulles
Diplomat, lawyer, and banker who became the first civilian and longest-serving CIA director. Served in the military and with the Office of Strategic Services during World War II, helping negotiate the unconditional capitulation of German troops in Italy. Helped draft the 1947 National Security Act, which created the CIA. Member of the Warren Commission, which probed the assassination of President Kennedy.
Not forgetting the mighty Anthony Fauci an
Immunologist who helped pioneer treatment and vaccine for AIDS. Since 1984, he has headed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where he administers key research into sexually transmitted infections, influenza, tuberculosis, malaria, and illnesses from potential agents of bioterrorism.
