Agriculture CS Peter Munya on Tuesday officially opened Matunwa Tea factory, a satellite of Nyansiongo tea factory in Nyamira County.
The launch of the factory which is dedicated to the production of orthodox tea is of great importance to the sub tea sector and country at large due to the role its expected to play in product diversification.
The factory is expected to process 800,000 kg of tea which will in return Lower the cost of processing and price of fertilisers as well as tea bonuses increment
CS Munya promised Matunwa residents that on 8th July the tea farmers will smile on the way from the bank as the tea bonuses will be increased.
Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrach Mose hailed the CS for the food work and requested him to write off the 200 million owed by the Factory.
Nyamira County Deputy Governor Dr.James Gesami confirmed the commitment by his government in uplifting the lives of farmers.
