Kisii, Kenya May 10 – US-based truck driver Cosmo Choy has accused a Kenyan renovator, Afande, of doing shoddy work on his house.

In a video posted on Facebook, Cosmo says he has paid Afande Ksh 1 million for the job, but the work was not up to his expectations. Cosmo has warned Afande to stop tarnishing his name.
“Kama umetumwa kuniharibia jina, Nicole Kijana, Cosmo said. You delivered hot air,” he said.
The issue has sparked mixed reactions from netizens, with some supporting Cosmo, while others are sympathetic to Afande’s plight.

The person who renovated the house identified as Afande Moses claims that he used over Ksh 400,000 to renovate the house, but Cosmo has not paid for the services done.
Afande Moses alleges that he and Cosmo Choy agreed that he would renovate his house for Ksh 400,000. Afande says he did the job perfectly, but to his dismay, Cosmo has not paid him even a single coin.
However, Cosmo Choy, in response to the claims by Afande Moses, says that was not the original agreement. He says that Afande asked for Ksh 242k, but he paid him Ksh 243k.

Cosmo attached transactions for the said Ksh 243k.
The issue has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, with some saying that the renovated house looks like a tea buying centre (Entundubari in Kisii language).

According to Afande Moses, the renovation work was ccompleted this year , and he has been following up with Cosmo Choy for payment since then.
“I did a good job, but I have not been paid. I have been following up with Cosmo Choy, but he has been giving me excuses,” said Afande Moses.
Afande says he is not going to give up until he gets his payment. “I am not going to give up. I have to get my payment,” he added.
On the other hand, Cosmo Choy denies that he owes Afande any money. He says that the Ksh 243k he paid to Afande was for a different job.
“That was not the original agreement. Afande asked for Ksh 242k, but I paid him Ksh 243k. That was for a different job, not the renovation of my house,” said Cosmo.
Cosmo attached transactions for the said Ksh 243k to prove that he paid Afande.
Meanwhile, netizens have reacted to the issue, with some saying that the renovated house looks like a tea buying center (Entundubari in Kisii language).
“What a mess! That renovated house looks like a tea buying center,” said one netizen.
“Imagine paying Ksh 400,000 for that kind of renovation work. That’s a rip-off,” said another netizen.
