One of the highlights was the endorsement of Chris Osiemo, the late MCA’s brother, to run for the MCA seat.
The endorsement was led by Brian Mamboleo, a prominent figure associated with Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
Mamboleo emphasized the late MCA’s affiliation with the United Progressive Alliance (UPa) ticket and appealed to the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to advocate with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party leadership to abstain from fielding any candidate for the upcoming by-election.

In response to this call, Japhet Nyakundi, UDA National Treasurer, issued a counter-statement indicating that Chris Osiemo would indeed be receiving the UDA ticket for the upcoming by-election.
Nyakundi’s assertion added a new layer of intrigue to the unfolding political narrative, indicating that the by-election would likely be hotly contested.
The endorsements were not limited to political parties but extended to influential regional figures as well.
Hon Simba Arati, Governor of Kisii County, lent his support to Chris Osiemo’s bid for the MCA seat and cautioned him against succumbing to financial enticements from UDA.
Governor Arati’s support came in the form of a financial contribution, as he presented Chris Osiemo with Ksh 100,000 to assist in launching his campaign efforts.
Meanwhile, Governor Amos Nyaribo, the leader of the UPA Party, also threw his weight behind Chris Osiemo’s aspirations.
Nyaribo’s endorsement further solidified the candidate’s standing within the political landscape of Nyamaiya Ward, adding another dimension to the upcoming by-election.
Beyond the realm of political endorsements, the burial proceedings also witnessed a poignant gesture from the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
During the ceremony, Machogu presented a Teaching Service Commission (TSC) letter to Moraa Osiemo, the sister of the late MCA.
Machogu also highlighted the importance of the county government absorbing the late MCA’s wife, ensuring her financial stability.
However, a notable twist emerged as it was revealed that the Diploma HR letter for TSC provided did not align with the wife’s qualifications.
This revelation led to an on-the-spot adjustment, as Machogu handed over the letter to Governor Nyaribo with an earnest plea for immediate employment.
