Nairobi,Kenya, March 19- China Square, a popular shopping Mall, located in Unicity Mall has announced that it will be closed on March 20th due to safety concerns stemming from the scheduled Azimio demonstrations.
In a statement released to the public, the management of China Square apologized for any inconvenience caused to their customers, but emphasized that the closure was necessary to ensure the safety of both customers and employees.
“We have been closely monitoring the situation and have made the difficult decision to close for one day,” the statement read.
“We want to ensure the safety of our customers and staff, and believe that closing for the day is the best course of action.”
The Azimio demonstrations, which have been taking place across the country in recent weeks, are a series of protests against the government’s policies, and the high cost of living.
The demonstrations have been largely peaceful, but there have been sporadic reports of violence and clashes with police.
The closure of China Square is just one example of how the demonstrations are impacting daily life in Kenya.
Many businesses and schools have also closed in response to the protests, causing disruption and inconvenience for citizens across the country.
China Square will resume business as usual on March 21st, but the management has advised customers to monitor the situation closely and stay informed of any further developments.
“We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers, and we appreciate their understanding during this difficult time,” the statement concluded
