President William Ruto on Thursday landed at Kakamega Airstrip received by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. The two leaders proceeded to State Lodge Kakamega where the President was expected to address Western Kenya leaders and invited guests.
COTU SG Francis Atwoli who supported Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Presidential candidate Raila Odinga in the August election among the key leaders present at the meeting.
In his speech, President William Ruto said that he has forgiven the leaders who had spoken ill things about him during campaigns. President Ruto also said that the people of Kakamega County will benefit from government projects. No Kenyan will be left behind
” We recently launched the Hustler Fund which aims at uplifting the lives of Kenyans. On April 2023 we will launch phase 2 and phase 3 for community groups and SMEs “, Ruto said
Landing fees at Kakamega to be removed to enable Kakamega Airstrip pick momentum as a commercial airline. President William Ruto directed the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and Kenya Airports Authority to do the necessary changes in ensuring the Airstrip picks up to standards of other airlines.
” Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on next week Wednesday will launch the inaugural flight to Kakamega Airstrip. There will be no need of travelling all the way to Eldoret when travelling to Nairobi or other destinations on Air “, Ruto Noted.
President William Ruto also noted that he will work with Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa in expanding the Airstrip for it to have the waiting bay for visitors.
President Ruto has promised Western Kenya people goodies including construction of roads and revival of sugar industries.
