Nyamira, Kenya, Dec 31- Today,marks exactly 128 days since the Governor of Nyamira County Amos Nyaribo and and his Deputy Dr.James Games were sworn in.

The Milestone achievement- the recruitment of ECDE Teachers on permanent and pensionable basis, Launch of Magwagwa Market, and Establishment of KMTC Kitty.

August 25th, 2022
H.E Amos Nyaribo and his Deputy Dr.James Gesami took oath of Office at Nyamira Primary playgrounds on Thursday, 25th August 2022.

The United Progressive Alliance candidate Amos Nyaribo was re-elected Governor of Nyamira County.
Nyaribo, who is the incumbent, was announced the winner after garnering 82,090 votes.

His closest challenger Walter Nyambati of UDA garnered 49,281 votes.

Governor Amos Nyaribo held a Security Consultantative meeting with Nyamira County Commissioner Michael Lesmam and other stakeholders following the escalating insecurity cases in North Mugirango and Borabu Sub Counties.

Governor Amos Nyaribo delivered his First address to the county assembly of Nyamira,in the official opening of the Third County Assembly.
“With the support of the noble house, I am convinced that we will make Nyamira County the ‘big brother’ in this Region and beyond”, Nyaribo Noted.

The Governor also hosted the Regional Director General of Kenya National Highways Authority,Julius Mak’ Oderoh at his Office
“We had an important discussion on the available opportunities for collaboration in order to ensure that we provide the people of Nyamira with quality services”, Nyaribo said after the meeting
Further, The Governor met with KCB and National Bank Of Kenya officials

October 5th, 2022

Deputy Governor Dr.James Gesami presided over the launching of the Matunwa Earthdam Construction in Esise Ward,Borabu.
“The project will support both micro and multi-community projects with potential of long-term continuation of agricultural activities. This project is among the objectives of NAGRIP, which has targeted rural communities in the selected counties, Nyamira County being one of them”, Gesami said.

Governor, Further appointed Dennis Indigo Onduko from Nyamaiya Ward to be the County Chief Officer of Medical Services.

The Governor handed over the water project at Nyamakoroto Secondary School to the school management.
The water project was carried out by the Qatar Foundation in consultation with the County Government of Nyamira.
“This will be a life changer to Nyamakoroto Secondary School and the nearby community”,Nyaribo added
November 1st, 2022
The Governor hosted the Kenya Airports Authority officials (KAA) and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) at his office.
“I believe opening of the Sironga Airport will serve the people of Nyamira County and it will open Nyamira to both local and international markets”, Nyaribo said.
Further, Governor Nyaribo disbanded the revenue collection teams including enforcement officers and directed the County Executive Committee Member for Finance to constitute a new team to take up revenue collection exercise
November 2nd, 2022
The Governor met the Presidential Working Party on Reforms task force.
The team was led by their Chairperson for the Gusii Chapter Dr. Richard Githinji.

Further, the Governor Recruited ECDE Teachers on a permanent and pensionable basis.
“We have constructed additional 98 ECDE Centers complete with friendly sanitation facilities each fitted with 5000 liters water tank. My adminstration will ensure every center has enough teachers to take care of our learners needs”, Nyaribo added

Governor Amos Nyaribo hosted President William Ruto First Daughter, Ms Charlene Ruto at his office.
“Ms Charlene highlighted on the need to partner with investors and counties to tackle climate change and initiate safeguards for the environment”, Nyaribo said in a statement

The Governor hosted a delegation from Family Bank led by the Chief Officer Public Sector, Ms. Nancy Njau to discuss possible partnerships with the bank in creating better working relationships and opportunities for Nyamira residents.
“The bank intends to partner with the County in offering Scholarships to vulnerable students.
I assured the delegation of our commitment and support to strengthen the partnerships”, Nyaribo Noted

The Governor made the formal appointment of County Chief Officers.

Further, the Health Cabinet Minister flagged off Medical drugs worth ksh 29 million
“Through the Department of Health we have today flagged off medical drugs worthy 29 Milion Kenyan Shillings to aid services delivery to people. The drugs will be dispatched to a number of health facilities across the County”, The Statement read.

“I want to welcome the new team to Nyamira County government and ask them to ensure that they offer services to the people of Nyamira County as we promised in our manifesto during the campaigns. The Governor established Ksh 24 Milion
KMTC kitty to cater for needy students joining the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in the next financial year 2023.
Establishing a revolving fund to support needy students is very key, the fund will support 300 needy students from Nyamira County for a period of three years

The Governor held a discussion with the management of the cooperative Bank who had piaf courtesy call and discussed areas of partnership that would be of benefit to the people of Nyamira County.

The Governor paid a courtesy call to the Saudi Ambassador to Kenya H.E Khalifa Bin Abdullah Al-Salman to discuss areas of collaboration and cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Nyamira County.
The areas extensively discussed are in line with Education and the Industrial Park. The Industrial park is to be set up in sironga to a tune of Ksh 19B. The park will bring on board all the counties from the lake region block
The Governor also met with the CEO of UBA Bank Kenya to discuss partnership opportunities available in the upcoming Nyamira Integrated Agro-Industrial Park.

We shall engage different stakeholders in the sports fraternity to improve sports in our county.
December 22nd, 2022.

Governor Amos Nyaribo joined the National Government and Kenya Forest Service in a nationwide tree planting exercise with an aim of maintaining and achieving over 30% forest cover by the year 2032.
The Governor launched the tree planting project at Etono Primary School, Bomwagamo Ward whereby 3000 trees were planted.
We shall continue planting trees so that Nyamira county can have a forest cover of 10% from the current 7.29%.
December 23rd, 2022.
The Governor opened the Magwagwa Market and earmarked Thursday as the official market Day.
Being in a central place it will serve neighborhood Counties such as Bomet, Kericho, Homabay among others and also help us in tapping revenue.

Further, Nyaribo asked people of business mind to join groups which are registered so that they can access loans from Ksh. 10,000-100,000 at a 5% interest under the Inuka Fund Initiative.
