Hon. Aisha Jumwa Karisa Katana nominee for Public Service Gender and Affirmative Action CS has taken the vetting seat this afternoon. She’s the immediate former member of the Malindi constituency.
Hon. Jumwa initiated a paperless process in the management of Parliamentary work while serving as a commissioner heading the sub-committee of the commission on Communication and ICT.

Public Service nominee Aisha Jumwa breaks down while narrating her personal story during the process of vetting by the Committee on Appointment. She highlights how she struggled with her 27 siblings and dropped out of school due to a lack of school fees.
Kimani Ichungwa asked Aisha whether she owns a gun since she faces murder charges and Malindi NGCDF corruption allegations.
Aisha Jumwa: replied that she has never owned nor applied for a gun. The cases were politically instigated, the DPP dropped the case on misappropriation of funds
“On the issue of the murder, I empathize with the family because it is unfortunate. I am clear in my mind I never shot anyone, I am not a gun holder. Three witnesses have testified in court & have not mentioned my name anywhere. I am innocent per the Constitution”, Aisha added.
The CS nominee promised to work meticulously guided by the law.” I have been a commissioner of the PSC and we have dealt with so many issues. There is no big difference in terms of handling matters in HR, fairness will be my strength in all departments while handling matters in HR”, Aisha charged.
“I want to commit that if given the opportunity to be CS, I’ll make sure that Kenya is one. Affirmative action policy will be initiated to make sure that all Kenyans irrespective of their gender, tribe, and religion are given equal opportunities I had to take myself to class after dropping in form 2. I think that’s not a qualification (KCSE Grade) to judge Aisha Jumwa on sitting in the cabinet. The person who nominated me for this position did his due diligence and saw that I am fit if approved by the parliament” -Aisha Jumwa
On the issue of the two-thirds gender rule, Aisha says it is a constitutional requirement and they will stand firm to make sure that it is realized
