Biography
Aisha Jumwa Katana was born on 23rd March 1975 in Takaungu, Kilifi South Constituency in Kilifi County.
Aisha Jumwa attended Takaungu Primary School and sat for her KCPE exams in 1990 before proceeding to Ganze Secondary School in 991 and 1992 then dropped out of school for lack of fees. She later joined Nyali Senior School and sat for her KCSE exams in 2011.
After her primary and secondary education, Aisha proceeded to Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) where she bagged a certificate in County Governance.
Political Journey.
Being a vocal voice in youth, women, and persons living with disabilities matters, Aisha established the Aisha Jumwa Foundation before joining active politics in 1997 when she won the Takaungu Ward seat in Kilifi. In 2002, she got re-elected.
Jumwa was elected Kilifi woman rep in 2013 on the Orange Democratic Movement party. She was elected Malindi Township MP in the hotly contested election on the ODM party ticket in 2017.

Aisha Jumwa on August 9 2022 contested for the Kilifi County gubernatorial seat on UDA party Ticket and lost to Gideon Mung’aro of the ODM Party.
President William Ruto on 27th September 2022 nominated Aisha as the Cabinet minister Ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action.
Family
Aisha is the second born in a family of five. She is a single mother of three children, namely; Karisa, Selina, and Ruth. She is also a caring grandmother to the young Morgan.
