Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident in which burglars broke into the Nairobi home of Public Service, Affirmative Action and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and stole valuables and Sh1.1 million in cash on Wednesday morning.
The gang attackedย the CSโ family demanding cash and electronics before escaping. One of her daughters was injured in the drama.
Police said Jumwa was not present at the time of the incident but her two daughters and a house girl who were present at the newly acquired house in Loresho were left shocked.
The thieves escaped with two mobile phones, the cash and gold jewelry belonging to the CS and her family.
The guards who were on duty were missing and it is believed they could be part of the gang behind the attack on the house.
The gang first broke a section of a wall around the house before they accessed the house through the kitchen door, which was open, police who visited the scene said.
Police who visited the scene said they had not been informed the CS stays there and wondered why she had not done so.
This comes weeks after two burglars raided the Nairobi home of Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and made away with a 40 inch tv set and gas cylinder.
It remains unclear how the burglars accessed the well-guarded home at Karen, Nairobi and managed to steal a Samsung television set and a gas cylinder Sunday January 29.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing amid reports it could be an inside job on both of them.
